Dance mediation as a career perspective
A workshop by Access Point Tanz and Future Move e.V. in cooperation with the Hochschulübergreifenden Zentrum Tanz (HZT) Berlin
19.10.2024, Uferstudios, Berlin
Dance mediation is a broad field and can have many faces. Through dance mediation practices, such as for example audience discussions, people are encouraged to talk about dance or use dance to explore topics in depth. Dance mediation can also include formats that take dance as an impetus for joint research. Participatory dance projects with communities and/or target groups offer spaces of learning with and through movement. An undeniable feature of dance mediation is its potential to have a direct impact on society and to combine the artistic with the pedagogical on an equal footing.
But how do you become a dance mediator? Which practices, formats and methods have become established and are relevant for our society? Accompanied by established experts in this field, this workshop aims to impart knowledge and share concrete tools to explore the diverse and dynamic field of dance mediation as a socially and artistically relevant activity.
The workshop is aimed at students of the HZT, participants of the ‘Future Move Tanz – career perspectives for young dancers’ program and anyone who wants to become active in the field of dance mediation.
